It seems like January will be quite busy. Two group exhibitions are planned along with "Talking Heads” at the Jerusalem Theatre Gallery. Preparations are now complete. On January 24th, I will talk to the public in the Theatre, about my art.

Yesterday, I went to collect my sculptures from "Ecodrive", the art exhibition in Volvo and Honda showrooms. An interesting experience, a sort of very respectable, non-Gallery exhibition. The works displayed had all, something to do with recycling, environment or cars and drew quite a bit of attention. Here is an article with one of my work portrayed.

A new project begins to bear fruit. A collaboration with Glass artist - Sarit Lapid, has led to the creation of wire portraits fused in glass. First project, "Yankale", delivered today, was an order created as a birthday present for a friend's spouse. 5 layers of glass, 20X30 c"m in size, to be displayed on the desk for all to see and enjoy....

I have joined "Netanya Artist's Association". I live in a small town not far from Netanya and for many of the daily services I drive there. The association seems active. I am glad for the opportunity to meet new people who share the same interests as I do, and the possibility for future collaboration on some projects I have in mind.

"Portrait of Timeline" will open in a couple of weeks. It is project # 22 of the Israeli Artist group "And I couldn't Say". The Exhibition will take place in Tondella Portugal. Opening: November 18.

Busy Autumn "Talking Heads" closes Saturday in "Bat Shlomo". Two group exhibitions will soon be on the way. "Ecodrive" will open on Tuesday at Tel Aviv "Volvo" and "Honda" showrooms.

"Talking Heads" opened yesterday with a toast for the New Year. Although not really planned, a new exhibition starting with the New Year is hopefully a good sign. Good feedback from people who have not seen my work for quite some time now, and also an intelligent setup by the gallery's owner and curator. Now it is time for the visitors to say what they think of it.

In Portugal, "Portrait of Timeline" will open November 18th.

Nine and a half! Kilos that I left behind in the past three months, do not stop me from visiting Dorit's bakery stand, on Friday mornings. It is true that ever since I started watching what I eat I only enjoy the opportunity to chat with her for a bit, but the stand is rich and full of happiness, and many stop to pick something for the weekend. This week I suddenly thought of Dorit with forbidden cakes running through my head. In my mind I saw the baker waking over with a huge tray of goodies offering me what I regrettably must decline. From there to how do I recreate the lady in Wires, the distance was short. I decided to work with a thick wire and to create a wireframe. Once done I was satisfied with results, but then decided to go back to a technique I haven't used in a long time and wrap her in wire. With copper gloves, cook's hat and a grand tray, all that was left was to go look for Dorit...

Had a second meeting with Ilan, curator and owner of  GALLERINA, BAT SHLOMO. Time was spent on planning the upcoming exhibition. Quite a load of work to do preparing for the exhibition. Will be ready on time of course...

After a visit with my two younger kids to the Israeli National Maritime Museum, in Haifa, on Saturday, I went back to my art books and found a picture I remembered well of a few people in a sail boat. A work by the great Winslow Homer. I then sat down to create a wire sail boat with Homer's picture as my inspiration. Work is done.

A magnificent goldsmith, Sagit Levi, invited me to show my art on a special sale she organized in her country home, this Friday morning. Weather was awfully hot, and many people decided to skip. Those that came enjoyed a lovely event!

I participated today in a fund raising evet for Lowenstein Hospital rehabilitation Center. The event was hosted in a private residence in Caesarea and some 200 volunteers and members of the hospital's support female association were invited. I put up for display a stand with some of my work.

In my search of the history of Wire Art, I set out to learn a bit about one of the most important wire artists if not one of the most important Sculptors of the 20th century, Alexander Calder (1898 - 1976). I published a short biography in Hebrew of Calder, see link below.

BIT REBELS is a site I enjoy very much. They gather the best in Lego, Design and other interesting stuff. I was inspired by their story about Origami shoes and this is the result. Finished work on a big statue, approx. 1.50 meters tall, in a sitting position. Temporary name is "Guy's Mother". Statue was done with a single thread of wire. Will be showed in upcoming event in Rishpon Gallery.

This weekend I took part in a local art fair (Tel Mond). 31 houses opened their doors to the public. Each house hosted three or more artists, craftsmen or small businesses. I had the pleasure of sharing the house of a really talented lady which creates jewelry and art with fused glass. Our third presenter was a lady selling her own made chocolate treats. Several hundred people came by, some to seek inspiration, others to learn but all were welcomed with a cake and a smile. I was moved by people that told me they came to see my art, after seeing an example in the brochure.

Artists’ Open houses in Tel Mond is coming in a week and a half, and all are invited. Preparations are a bit difficult due to my broken collarbone (seems that bike riding may be hazardous sometimes). I'm learning how to manage without driving and with one hand only. Morale is high :-), although I'll miss a few things in the coming weeks.
