I went today to Hadera, a city halfway between Tel Aviv and Haifa, to meet Dr. Anton Biedermann, Curator and manager of "Hadera's Artist's House". We had a most interesting conversation about Art, Artists, our personal histories and possible collaboration in the future. It is such meetings that give me inspiration and energies for new Artistic Projects.

Summer time is a great opportunity to spend with the kids. Summer vacations are also a bit less intensive, workwise. None the less I have finally received my first printed catalog and am also participating in a group exhibition in Tel Aviv.

I have been thinking for quite some time how to create works with both wire and Acrylics on Canvas. I wanted to create a dialogue between the two. "Mask" is an important first step, I think, :-) in that direction. Two weeks in Kruger Park, South Africa plus a period of experimenting with the combination of acrylics and Wire helped create the “Mask”…

Sunday evening will see the opening of a very interesting exhibition in which I am participating: "The face of the Nation". In Hebrew this is a sort of expression using the word face and usually regarding how things really look. 20 artists joined in Tel Aviv Central Bus Station Gallery to present their view of how things look like today in Israel, a moment before we celebrate our 64th year of independence. The fifth floor of the enormous building, holds a Spacious Loft Gallery and our works. You are all invited of course!

Artists Open houses in Tel Mond. Many come for a visit to see and enjoy Art in its many forms. I share a friend's living room with her Glass Jewelry and amazing cast glass pictures. A third artist sharing the space with us creates very delicate acrylic drawings on multilayered, self-made paper.

March- April holiday season turns to be even busier then January. This coming weekend will see both the annual Tel Mond spring Open Houses Art Fair, and a group exhibition in Jaffa port - Eros and Tantos. Next week two more events: A group exhibition of "Magma" Artists Group which I joined this month, and the opening of an Art sale exhibition in Tel Aviv. Next is the participation in a group exhibition "Nonsense", and later in April, "Freed Beauty" a group exhibition at the Volvo's showroom in Tel Aviv.

Magma Studio is the workshop for 10 Sculptors sharing the space equipment and costs. Each of us has his own keys and may come and go as he pleases. It is a new experience for me and I find it a good one.

A year has turned full circle. The smell of spring is in the air again, Passover, just around the corner. Open houses project in Tel Mond is coming back next Friday and Saturday. Artists, artisans, and gift makers will open their houses for people to come and visit. Many friends will display their Art and products. I will share once again a friend’s house at "yedidut" (friendship) st . (House no. 9 on the maps that will be given to incoming visitors). With new works and a few surprises, I will be waiting for you, my friends. All are invited.

I went through a few pictures today and wrote down an anecdote about one of my works. Here goes:

Single wire thread except for copper wire heart. This sculpture is named "Guy's Mother" as a reminder for a work named "Guy", which was approx. half it's size.
My youngest daughter, 3.5 at the time, was looking for "Guy" to play with, as she did quite often. Guy was her size and she loved playing with it as one of her dolls. Many complaints followed due to the fact Guy found a new home (Sonja says she takes good care of "Guy", thank you). Finally I set out to create a new "Guy" but as usual, wires had a somewhat different plan, or a larger scope, if you will :-).
Smadar is now 4.5 and she still remembers "Guy" but I can't find the right type of wire to try and recreate, (dark green vinyl coated wire with a very special touch). 
Still I wonder if I should go for a "Gaya" instead of "Guy 2". What would you suggest?

Being a little sick gives you time to do stuff which is forever waiting. Yesterday I held a workshop for seven great ladies. We had a lot of fun and today, resting in front of the computer, I had time to create and send them a thank you collage
